I have lived on PEI since I was 8 years old. I never really took in the sights available until I had met my husband back in 2003, especially when after we adopted our shepard/husky mix Mindy in 2005. One summer we had taken Mindy to Cabot numerous times and the trails that were made where Rainbow Valley used to be. One trip to Cabot Beach, we had a hard time convincing Mindy it was time to head home - she had met another dog who shared her love for the water. It was so relaxing to see these two dogs behaving like old friends and so much like little children. Another trip to Cabot resulted in a canine gymnastics meet. We had brought along Mindy's day-glo ball. Gordon had thrown it this one time and Mindy was running so fast that she couldn't stop on a dime. She ended up doing a cartwheel. That and the 'duh' look that had come over her face, Gord and I laughed so hard we almost wet our shorts. These are just a couple examples of enjoying the laid-back and natural environment that is the back bone to PEI we have enjoyed.
