Go to North Cape and if you are fortunate enough to catch them on an ideal weather day, watch the horses and their riders collect the Irish Moss. The first time I saw this activity taking place, I was awestruck at the beauty of the whole practice that has been done the same way for decades. It truly takes one "back in time" . The horses just seem to know exactly what is expected of them while they stride out into the big waves with their huge strong legs and help bring in the fruits of their labor. A wondrous sight that I appreciate seeing over and over again! Submitted by Claire G. | |
