What does the Heart of the Island Mean to you?

Whether you grew up here, or you have just had the pleasure of visiting our Gentle Island, you know a trip to P.E.I. is a special experience. It changes you! It’s the sort of feeling you want to share with your friends and family.

That’s what Heart of the Island is about. We’re looking for Ambassadors to share what makes PEI so unique, so special and so different from any other part of the world.

From April 14 to April 17, we accepted entries for the "Heart of the Island" contest. We invited entrants to take a picture, take a video or write a note to share their own idea on what defines the Island. Tell us what the Heart of the Island means; what makes it unique. These videos, pictures and stories are uploaded right here at ShareYourPEI.com, where people could like the entry they thought most speaks to what the Heart of the Island really is. Videos can also be viewed at ShareYourPEI's very own YouTube Channel.

Daily Winners of Confederation Bridge Passes:

seclusion: to enjoy one's solitude. My gift to the world would be a gift for my son.Cort and his partner need time for themselves so I am looking for a trip to PEI for them. Love of and in PEI is absolutely the best.

I can see it as I drive onward, a giant arched passage, and suddenly a feeling rushes through my body. A feeling that cannot be described with words. It is like I am entering a whole new world, a world where dreams can become reality. A place I never want to leave. And, as I drive over that last rise and see that world come into view, I feel something that I only feel here... a surge of joy...such a rare feeling for me. The contrast of the beautiful green and red soil fields meeting the blue sky... artwork only God could create. What a treat for my eyes. I stop and watch horses in a pasture and feel wonderful memories of what I once had. A past where moments that bring me such pleasure are now scant. Memories of confidence and freedom. Nobody is in a hurry here. Relax...take your time. Breathe in the scent of red mud mixed with salt air. This is a land with family and friends that give me a feeling of belonging and importance. Freedom to be myself. Now it is time to leave and it hits me. What if I never get back here.... what if this is my last visit...what if...what if? Feelings of sadness, depression.... tears run down my face. Out of my control. I don't want to leave this home....ever.

Music! Everyone I've met since I moved here plays instruments and/or sings. Whether it's a kitchen party, or one of PEI's awesome bands, this province seems more musically talented than others.
